Our U-pick vegetables and fruit are part of all CSA shares. The amounts are dependent on the specific growing season and announced in the newsletters and events listings online throughout the season.
U-Pick Flowers and Herbs:
These are available whenever you stop by the farm after July. You can your own flowers to make an arrangement and take home a bunch of one or several mixed herbs.
U-Pick Peas:
The pea pick takes place during the pancake breakfast, during the last Saturday of June. We are offering a combination of snap, snow and shell peas which can all be frozen to eaten fresh. Last season eat family that picked took between 2-6lbs of peas home.
U-Pick Raspberries:
Since raspberries ripen over a period of several weeks we post a schedule of times for raspberry picking and ask that all members call ahead to reserve a spot and let us know when you pick. You can expect to pick 1 gallon of raspberries as part of your share and have the opportunity to pay for additional u-pick raspberries at $3/pint beyond the first gallon.
U-Pick Tomatoes (and tomatillos):
Tomatoes ripen over a period of 2 weeks-1.5 months. We post a schedule of times in the newsletter and in our events listings and ask that all members call ahead to reserve a pick time and date. You can expect to pick ½ bushel -1 bushel depending on the year. You can also pick tomatillos at this time. We have garlic, onions, celery and hot/sweet peppers for purchase available at this time for sauce and salsa making.
U-Pick Pumpkins:
The U-pick pumpkins are available at the fall pumpkin pick event in late September. Every family will be able to take 1-2 pumpkins or squash home as part of your share and can pay for additional pumpkins and squash. We have both pie and cooking varieties available as well as larger carving and decorative pumpkins.
